Study: “Insomnia ‘linked to credit worries’”

Bad Credit - Bad Sleep?“Insomnia ‘linked to credit worries’” – well, WHY does that not surprise me?

But now there is statistically correct proof for it, according to a recent study.

Almost half of people are getting a worse night’s sleep than this time last year, with many blaming the credit crunch, a new poll has found.

A total of 49% are sleeping badly compared with last year, with 35% losing at least one hour of sleep each night and 14% losing at least two hours.

Men were more likely to say they were getting less sleep than women, according to the survey of 1,000 people.

Money worries were the top sleep-depriver, with 50% of all people questioned saying they were concerned about cashflow.

Those aged 25 to 34 were the most anxious about making ends meet with 61% of this age group being kept awake by fears over money. When asked in detail about their concerns, 32% said they were worried about paying heating bills while 26% said food bills.

A fifth (20%) of people were worried about their jobs and 15% were worried about paying credit card bills. Another 15% were concerned about how they would pay their mortgage or rent.

More than half (52%) of people said getting less sleep was making it more difficult to concentrate at work. And 55% of women and 32% of men said not getting enough sleep was adding to their overall feelings of anxiety.

Among women, 43% were worried about their families while 5% of men admitted to being awake thinking about Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

When asked about the perfect solution for a good night’s rest, 26% of men said sex compared with 13% of women. Hot milky drinks and hot baths were also viewed as useful remedies.

The poll was carried out for The Body Shop, which said six months’ worth of its pillow spray sleep aid had sold out in just four weeks.

Well folks, don’t worry. None of us can ever be as broke as the banks, the governments and the big corporations. The difference is just that they control the religion of the funny colorful pieces of paper and just invent some more, take us hostage, and we as the “believers” are f*cked (as in any religion), as long as we believe.

Money (and the absence of it) is just imagination. A fragile consent of those who think a piece of paper with a pyramid, an eye and a meaningless signature on it, blessed by the holy private FED, is actually “worth” something.

Set your mind free, set your banker’s mind free (and offer him some self-grown salad instead, thats worth more…) and just forget about this nonsense. Will come to an end soon.

Have some sex, or some milky drink if unavailable, get some soothing music or brainwave sessions, and sleep well.

There is no spoon. Nor are there mortgages. Nothing to worry.
