When I first got the pillow, I layed on my side without it to see how it felt and then put the pillow between my legs to compare and I immediately felt relief. I have rather bony knees...so I tried. This one is well shaped and fits. It is a rather soft foam, though. I think it would work better if it were a higher density foam, or a memory foam.
